Fortunately the atmosphere in the city centre is no longer reminiscent of Bangkok on a good day. Entertainment has changed from watching how 'black' money changers palm money intended for their gullible clients to watching a very passable performance of some street puppets re-enacting Don Giovanni for passers by. Of course cultural performances were always a strong point in this particular city, it is just that they are now much higher profile. The other, less cultural shall we say, performances are also a boom industry now and no-one will be stuck for something to go and see, be it highbrow or high testosterone.
